Discovered in 2019, Pink Amethyst is a relatively rare form of Amethyst that has grown in popularity rapidly over the past few years due to the feelings of understanding, calmness and grace it instils within us.
Pink amethyst forms in the same way as other Amethysts - it is created when silicon dioxide (SiO2) comes into contact with trace amounts of iron (Hematite). The iron gives the Amethyst its characteristic purple colouration. In the case of Pink Amethyst, the iron (Hematite) is present in smaller amounts, resulting in lighter hues.
Similar its purple counterpart, Pink Amethyst has many of the same properties, but it gives us an added layer of soothing, self-love-promoting energy. If you are drawn to these beauties, it may be a sign from the universe that you need to spend some time loving yourself to diffuse negative energy and return to your happy self.
